I worked in a stuffy office for over 15 years and decided that it was time to take more control of my life. I was tired of missing out on family events and tired of having a boss who didn't understand the importance of family. I wanted flexible hours, good pay and I wanted to spend more time with my family. I decided to try to find a job where I could work from home with flexibility. I find I am now a much calmer person, less stressed out. My kids say I am more fun to be around. I spend less money on commuting, lunch and work attire and  get to spend more time with my family.

Did you know? .... "A full time working mom that places her child in daycare at the age of twelve weeks loses about 34,425 precious hours of time with her child by the time her or she reaches the age of twelve. Additionally, much of the time left to spend with her child is non-quality, "chaos" time during which mom is either busy or too stressed to actually enjoy the time she has with kids."-Alexa Panne

If you are new to working from home, I strongly recommend you review the links in my  Explore More section to the left. This will give you the tools to recognize legitimate/non legitimate work.

I found many different opportunities as well as scams. I am here to share what I have found and to help you take advantage of my experience working at home. None of this is get-rich-quick.

I would also like YOU to educate yourself so you will not become a victim of any work at home scam. These pages are fiiled with great information as well as links to some companies that have home based employees or independent contractor.

You must make your own choices but the first step in working at home is making sure you are committed. There is no home based job or business that will work if you are not dedicated to yourself to make it work.

Personally, I felt my strongest skills were in the customer service field. I had worked in Call Center both hourly and salaried.  I decided to try a few different option within the customer service industry. I contract out and take the calls for many of those infomercials you see on tv from the comforts of my own home, when I want to. I also take charity donation calls as well as a variety of others. The average salary ranges from $8-22 per hour. I do earn the higher end. Personally, I went with a company that didn't require a ton of hours but they do have strict guidelines to follow once you become an agent. The companies I found to be the most reputable for the customer service industry throughout my research are:

There are many more but I found these to be the best fit for my skill set. On this work at home website you will also see a compiled a list of the most popular work from home companies categorized by skill. Links to work at home companies  I did include Mystery Shoppers in my lists even though you don't really work from home but you can create your own schedule so it may interest some of you.

Now one thing you may want to note was that I did in fact have to pay $30 for a backround check for some of these companies. Make sure you review my addional information on Work-at-Home Schemes and Scams  so you can properly educate yourself on what to check for about a company.

I tried HYIPs. Do you even know what that is? I didn't when I first began my working from home endeavors. Please check out my additional pages to inform yourself.

I am also a computer-only agent for a great new search engine called  http://www.chacha.com/    I also sign on when I want and off when I want. This is more for those who are internet savvy and quick typers. The money made is much less but I do this one to stay up to date with the times while staying at home. I am turning 40 and my kids are new teens. I want to stay on top of new technology. I found this one to be a good fit for me.

Each person mush find their own  niche. I am just trying to empower you to have the confidence to take control of your life and work from home. I continue to research opportunities and will continue to update this site with useful information
